Wedding cakes 

A Port Aransas local, that can create a wedding cake that your guests will actually enjoy eating! Your moist, delicious cake is baked by me, 2 days before your wedding (never frozen!).   I will see your cake through from the initial design, to the oven and then to the reception site.  Because I live on the island,  your cake doesn't have to be "imported" from the mainland.

"That Takes the Cake", is a small, operation so you can be sure your date will not be overbooked and that your cake will receive the personalized attention you deserve. 

Your choice in wedding cake design makes a statement about your personality and sense of style. It should reflect you and your good taste. You may choose a sophisticated elegant look, or show your playfulness and sense of humor.  It should also fit well with the location, the decorating, and ambience which you have created for your reception.

               I make make my butter cream frosting with real butter!! 

 In using real butter, the frosting has a slight "off white" color. (All the cake photos on this wedding cake page, have butter cream frosting and are the color white that is produced) Also, the wedding cakes should be delivered and set up no earlier than 2 hours before serving.  The 2 hours allow the frosting to soften just enough to be superb, but not enough to start to weaken the support structure of the cake.

If you are having a small destination wedding to our wonderful Port Aransas (20 - 75 people) we offer a small wedding cake package which includes:

                 2 tier cake  (as seen in photo above)

                 Cake Flavor:

                 White cake, Butter Cake, Chocolate, or Yellow 

       Mousse Filling:

       Vanilla, Cheesecake, Lemon, Raspberry, Chocolate

       Butter cream frosting:

White or Chocolate frosting with a sea scape design                   with white chocolate or milk chocolate shells, starfish, etc..

Delivery and set-up: 

Delivery and setup within Port  Aransas is included.  Delivery and set-up outside of Port Aransas is $35.00. (Within a 35 mile radius). (Outside of the 35 mile radius is $35.00+ $.15 per mile outside of the radius).  One third of the total order is payable up front (not refundable if you cancel). The remaining two thirds balance is due two weeks before the event. 

There is a $50.00 deposit check needed for tier spacers, cake bases and any cake pieces that need to be returned. 

Hold date deposits are available.  If you wish to book a date and cannot come to Port Aransas for a consultation, you can book your date for $75.00.  This deposit will hold your date and go toward your order. 

Please note:  I do not ship my cakes.  I deliver my cakes personally. 

If you are or will be in the Port Aransas area, an appointment for taste testing can be arranged.  It is a non refundable $25.00 that will go toward your cake purchase should you choose to use me.

I also offer groom's cakes.  Our grooms need some special attention too.  I can do cake sculptures to embody your handsome groom's hobbies.
